As an accessory, there is a miter attachment where you can cut material up to 19 mm thick and 600 mm long, 22.5 or 45 degrees. Fold-out table that allows you to cut slabs up to 1200 mm. To understand what revolutionized the saws from iQ Power Tools, one needs to understand the new requirements for quartz stone dust at workplaces in the USA.
When you saw a 10cm x 10cm x 6cm flagstone, 45 grams of material disappears. Of the 45 grams, 20% consists of harmful quartz stone dust. This corresponds to 9 grams or 9,000,000 micrograms of quartz dust.
The new OSHA regulations state that you may only inhale 50 micrograms of quartz dust per cubic meter of inhaled air. This means that you may only inhale 840 micrograms per working day.
When you cut a single 10cm x 10cm x 6cm ground stone, quartz stone dust is produced which corresponds to what you may be exposed to for 10,714 days under the new laws. That corresponds to 34 years if you work 6 days a week without taking any vacation!
